Eliza Frye is a New York City based mover, choreographer, instructor and photographer. The ADF scholarship recipient received her BFA in Dance at Ball State University, where she performed under the direction of Sidra Bell, Jamie Meek, and Martha Graham’s Sandra Kaufman. Following graduation, she began presenting her own work at Cleveland Dance Festival and created work for The Movement Project. She has had the opportunity to photograph companies in NYC such as Sonia Plumb Dance Company and Hudson Ballet Theatre. Eliza also loves to share her art with her peers in taking photos for personal and professional purposes. The Ohio native recently started a project based company as well, Wasted Movement Dance Project, where she has since presented group work at WeMove Dance Festival, Cleveland Dance Festival, and DanceBloc Festival at Dixon Place. Since relocating to New York City, she has performed with Swan Ballet Center, New Brese Dance Project, Drye Marinaro Dance Company, and Nefelaba Dance Theater. Eliza also has experience teaching multiple levels of a wide variety of styles, specializing in contemporary, acrobatics, softacro and floorwork. Eliza strives to push past structural boundaries and elicit emotional reactions in her movement. She loves creating movement for all her classes and sharing her passion for dance with her students.
