Lavy, a gender queer, New York City based choreographic artist (MARYMOUNT MANHATTAN COLLEGE, BFA) founded VERBAL ANIMAL in 2021. Excavating areas of identity and queerness, their work creates fantastical realms of dance theater that unveil radical human expression. The company has presented work at Arts On Site, The Craft NYC, and Triskelion Arts. As a creator, Lavy has received space residencies from MOtiVE Brooklyn and The Downtown Brooklyn Partnership, as well as, being one of seven residents to be selected for the 2022 international choreographic residency at Art Omi. Additionally, Lavy has performed works by Kyle Abraham, Andrea Miller, Jenn Freeman, and Belinda McQuire.
