Angie Moon Conte

Season 3 Choreographer

Angie Moon Conte is an artist living in New York City. She received her MFA in Dance & New Media from NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and her undergraduate degree from Roger Williams University. Her work has been described as being “…filled with such exactingly constructed images, oscillating with moments of daredevil athleticism.” by the Stewardship Report. Her work often is inspired by dreams, surrealism, and she is constantly trying to find unlikely bonds between different mediums. Through the years she has presented work both Nationally and Internationally in a range of venues including The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Dixon Place, Danspace at St Marks Church, The Jack Crystal Theater, University Settlement, The Actors Fund Studios, GK Arts Center, Triskelion, Green Street Studios, The Dance Complex, the Paramount Theater, and many more. She has also experimented with site specific work, in art galleries, abandoned pubs in the UK, farmers markets, rooftops, and hotels. As a choreographer she has had the honor of being mentored by legends such as Kelli Wicke Davis, Phyllis Lamhut, Cari Ann Shim Sham*, and was a founding member for the NADINE Project, lead by Janet Mansfield Soares and Libby Nye. As a dancer she has performed work by Kate Weare, Sean Curran, David Dorfman, Janice Lancaster, Carl Flink, Jenny Rocha, Tiffany Mills, Vita Osojnik. She also performed at City Center with Kidd Pivot for the US premiere of “Polaris” choreographed by Crystal Pite. Angie is a celebrated teacher and mentor of many. She travels the country teaching and setting choreography on a variety of students from recreational to pre professional programs. Her choreography and students often receive top honors in regional and national conventions, and many have gone on to have their own professional careers. Her art spans many genres, and she also works in film, production design, and metal smithing. Her work has been screened overseas, along with the New York Indie Film Festival, Movies By Movers Film Festival, the Art of Brooklyn Film Festival, and the Tisch Dance & New Media Festival. She is a published illustrator, has presented at NY Jewelry week, and has worked on the design team for indie films, and brands such as Draft Kings, Aperol, Billboard, and Off White
